Born in Hokitika and raised in Christchurch, National Correspondent Tony Wall has worked as a journalist since 1990.
He was a crime and investigations reporter for the New Zealand Herald, crime reporter for the Daily Telegraph in Sydney, and investigations and features writer for the Sunday Star-Times. In 2009, he fronted a new crime show on TVNZ, Illegal NZ, which used hidden cameras to expose trading in guns, steroids and degrees. He has been a finalist for Reporter of the Year at the NZ Media Awards seven times, winning three. He has also been Feature Writer of the Year twice.
