Todd Niall joined Stuff after 40 years in daily news, and broadcasting, mostly in Auckland, with spells in Hamilton, Palmerston North and Wellington, and a total of 4 years living in Germany.

In addition to reporting Auckland affairs and business, he has covered end-to-end, on location, all 5 America's Cups contested by New Zealand since 2000. He is the historian for New Zealand's only mass-produced motor vehicle the Trekka, and author of The Trekka Dynasty, Bambina, a diary of the 2007 America's Cup, and co-author of the motorsport memoir of Phil Kerr.
