Born and raised in northern England, Joseph Pearson first came to New Zealand in 2015.

After an internship with the NZ Herald, Joseph joined Stuff in Auckland prior to the 2015 Rugby World Cup. He briefly returned to England, working for the Daily Express in London, but came back to Stuff in 2016, moving to Hamilton. Joseph has covered the NRL, world cups, the Olympics, the Mitre 10 Cup, the Paralympics, Super Rugby, a Lions tour, test rugby, the Commonwealth Games, and test cricket. He still checks Bradford City’s results on Sunday mornings.
