Ian Anderson has been a sports journalist and sports editor, sub-editor and news director for nearly 30 years.

He joined the Waikato Times as Deputy Sports Editor in 1997 after stints at Napier's Daily Telegraph and the Hawke's Bay Herald-Tribune. He has also worked as the Media and Communications Manager for the NZ Breakers in the ANBL. Ian covered the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow for Stuff and then headed Stuff's reporting team at the 2018 Games on the Gold Coast. He is also a two-time semifinalist on TVNZ's Mastermind.
