Carmen Parahi began her journalism career in 2001.

Since then she's reported for a range of community and regional papers, online, and television in Aotearoa New Zealand. Career highlights include a reporting secondment with the Aboriginal Peoples TV Network in Winnipeg, Canada for two months; visiting town camps in Alice Springs; a journalism scholarship to explore Japan; and interviewing Michael Campbell while walking on the No 1 fairway at St Andrews in Scotland.
