Carly Gooch has been a Stuff reporter for a number of years, moving to The Press after more than six years at the Nelson Mail newsroom.

Originally from Christchurch, she worked in Sydney for several years, before starting afresh in a new career in journalism when she moved to Nelson where she covered many topics including culture, health and human interest. Back in her hometown, she covers various topics, enjoying sharing people’s stories and seeing the power of media when it comes to positive change.
