Galina was released from prison three months early, on a good behaviour bond. She’s staying with Emma’s sister Yulia, and doesn’t intend to return to her own house because it has no electricity and needs a lot of maintenance. She also doesn’t want to stay there by herself in the middle of nowhere.

Galina is looking for work, but says it’s extremely difficult because of the pandemic - there are few jobs available.
Having met Emma, Galina wants to stay on the right path. As well as looking for employment, she is not drinking.
She says she wants to have a normal life in the hope of meeting Emma again one day, in a much better setting.
